''The 1962 has been a consistently gorgeous wine. In this vertical tasting, the 1962, while fabulously complex, succulent, and rich, tasted less mature and more backward than either the 1964 or 1966. The wine has lost little of its deep, saturated, dark ruby color. A huge, fragrant bouquet combining jammy red and black fruits, herbs, vanillin, smoke, and cedar is followed by a full-bodied wine with sweet, generous flavors, light tannin, and a finish that lasts for 30-40 seconds. This knock-out Unico is fully mature, yet remains fresh, vibrant, and lively. It will last for at least 15-20 more years.'' - RP

Still lively, with mellow texture and a core of plum flavor surrounded by clove and vanilla scents. Still veiled by a bit more tannin than even more recent vintages, giving it a grip on the finish. Drink now.
